Adult Autism, ADHD, and AuDHD FAQ
Whether you’re seeking clarity about your neurotype, looking for affirming support, or navigating the next steps after a diagnosis, we’re here to help. Below are the most common questions we hear from adults exploring autism, ADHD, and AuDHD assessments and support services.
General Questions
We specialize in neurodiversity-affirming diagnostic assessments for autism and ADHD in adults, as well as coaching, accommodations consulting, and post-diagnosis support. All services are provided virtually to adults across most of the United States, while coaching services are available worldwide.
Yes! We provide online adult autism assessments in most states. If you’re searching for “adult autism diagnosis near me,” we offer remote evaluations with the same depth, care, and expertise you’d expect from an in-person experience, all from the comfort of your own home.
Nope! While we specialize in high-masking presentations, which often include women, trans, and nonbinary folks, we welcome all adults seeking clarity, support, and neurodivergent-affirming care.
Neurodivergent refers to people whose brain processes information in a different way. Neurodivergent conditions include autism, ADHD, and many more.
Yes, all of our providers and coaches are autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent. We believe in the power of lived experience and identity-aware care.
Assessment Questions
If you’ve ever asked yourself “Am I autistic?” or “Do I have ADHD?”, it’s worth exploring. Many of our clients are late-identified and have spent years masking. Our assessments help bring clarity and relief, not labels.
Our assessments are designed specifically for adults, including those who are high-masking, late-identified, or previously overlooked by traditional mental health systems. Evaluations include:
- A collaborative clinical interview
- Adult-specific research-supported tools (such as the DIVA-5, MIGDAS-2)
- Review of relevant development and background history
- Opportunity for a partner, friend, or parent to provide input
- Consideration of differential diagnoses
- Documentation of any official DSM-5-TR diagnosis
This is a formal diagnostic evaluation, not a screening or “therapeutic assessment.”
Our comprehensive reports include:
Your written report includes:
-
Formal diagnostic conclusions (when criteria are met)
-
Clinical rationale explaining how conclusions were reached
-
Relevant developmental and background history
-
Integrated findings from interviews, standardized measures, and observation
-
Differential diagnoses considered
-
Analysis of how your neurotype affects real-world functioning
-
A strengths-based profile
-
General recommendations and supportive resources
Yes. All of our assessments include official documentation of any formal diagnosis assigned. Our reports also include information about how your unique neurotype affects daily functioning. Reports are often used to support workplace and other types of accommodation requests.
However, each organization sets its own documentation requirements.
Many organizations require additional forms, and specific accommodations are typically determined through an interactive process between you and the institution. Because those forms often require detailed, setting-specific information, completion of accommodation paperwork generally requires a separate accommodations session.
Yes, we specialize in AuDHD tests. Many of our clients present with overlapping traits, and our process is designed to identify and honor the full spectrum of your neurotype.
Our assessments range from $900 to $2,000 depending on whether you’re seeking an autism-only, ADHD-only, or combined AuDHD assessment. Our pricing is straightforward and transparent. We’ll walk you through your options so you only pay for what you need.
Absolutely. Many of our clients come to us after being misdiagnosed or misunderstood. We offer second-opinion assessments and re-evaluations to help you get clarity.
Yes. You can choose to order a report within 6 months of your assesssment date. Reports ordered post-assessment are $600 (compared to $500 if you get the report up-front).
Coaching & Therapy Questions
Yes, in select states. Our licensed therapists provide trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming therapy for autistic and ADHD adults. We offer individual therapy as well as individual and group coaching.
Therapy is a clinical healthcare service that treats mental health conditions. Coaching is not a clinical service; it’s goal-oriented and solution-focused, often used for executive functioning, burnout recovery, or identity exploration. NeuroSpark Health offers both coaching and therapy through a neurodivergent lens.
Absolutely! Many of our clients are self-identified or exploring their neurodivergence. You are welcome here regardless of a formal diagnosis.
We do! Our signature autistic burnout recovery group, Glimmer, runs several times a year and is intended for ADHD, AuDHD, and autistic adults.
Fees, Forms, & Accessibility Info
We are private pay only and do not bill insurance directly. However, many clients use their out-of-network benefits or submit superbills for reimbursement following assessment or therapy.

Diagnostic Clarity & Next Steps
For most adults, diagnosis is just the beginning. Clarity can bring relief and validation, but it can also bring up new questions.
Some clients choose to continue with additional support, while others simply want diagnostic clarity. Both paths are valid.
For those who choose additional support, the focus often includes:
-
Making sense of identity shifts and unmasking
-
Recovering from long-term burnout or chronic exhaustion
-
Rethinking career, productivity, and expectations through a neurodivergent lens
-
Developing executive functioning strategies that align with how their brain actually works
-
Processing relational or emotional experiences in a neurodivergence-affirming space
Support may include therapy, coaching, group work, or further independent exploration.
If it’s helpful, we’re always happy to collaborate with you on an individualized plan for what comes next.
Never. We work with adults of all ages, from college students to retirees. It’s never too late to understand yourself or your neurotype.
No, it will explain who you are. Many clients say that getting diagnosed helped them feel more seen, valid, and grounded than ever before.
