What You Can Expect on Your Assessment Day

Get Started with Your Evaluator

You’ll meet with your evaluator via a secure video platform.

We’ll start by filling you in about what the assessment process will look like and what to expect from our time together. We promise to keep things straightforward and clear.

Our providers are neurodivergent too… which means they won’t try to engage you in small talk or expect you to unmask on cue. No pressure. Just focusing purposefully on your assessment.

Asking Questions That Matter for Adults

Using the MIGDAS-2, a clinical interview specifically designed for adult autism assessment, we’ll ask questions that leave room for all the nuances of your unique experiences.

Our evaluators know what kinds of follow-up questions to ask to get to the bottom of (likely decades) of masking. We’ll support you in making sure your story is fully captured. We invite you to share your lived experience… all your strengths, differences, and challenges as we move through the autism criteria together. No silly, irrelevant, infantilizing, or trick questions.

We’ll have a collaborative conversation using the MIGDAS-2 and gather clinical insights while also observing your communication, sensory experiences, and patterns that often get missed or overlooked in traditional assessments.

We Move at Your Pace

All communication styles and processing styles are welcome and valid. We’ll work with you to create the most comfortable assessment possible.

You can take breaks, refer to notes if you have them, use your fidgets, adjust your environment, or cuddle with your pets. If you’re struggling with a question, we’ll ask it in a different way. If you think of something new that you’d like to expand on from a previous section, you can do that too. If you have questions for us, we are happy to answer.

This is your assessment, designed to meet you exactly where you are.

End of Assessment: Feedback

At the end of your assessment, your evaluator will share their feedback so you know what they are thinking with complete transparency. They will share their diagnostic impressions, give feedback, offer recommendations, answer your questions, and talk you through what to expect next.
